Full-Scale Renovations WithCraft, Care, and Clear Communication
At Citi Contracting, every project starts with the same mindset:
treat it like it's your own.
A Philosophy of Excellence
That philosophy comes straight from our founder, John Buttigieg, whose entire career has been about creating spaces that feel good, function beautifully, and stand the test of time.
From Photo Studios to Construction Sites
John didn't wander into construction — he grew up in it. Carpentry was his first language. Before he ever swung a hammer on a home renovation, he was building sets for photography studios across New York.
Those early years taught him how to shape a room, create an atmosphere, and obsess over the details most people never notice… but always feel.

Back in the day, John worked as an audio engineer in a recording studio. Some might say this is where his attention to detail was born and made him a natural fit for managing high end renovation projects.
"In a recording studio, if one frequency is off, the whole track suffers. On a job site, it's the same. If the foundation or the framing is off by a fraction, the finish will never be perfect. It's all about the rhythm of the build."
— John Buttigieg, Founder
Seen on Million Dollar Listing
Quality speaks for itself in New York. A designer John collaborated with introduced him to Steve Gold, leading to an appearance on Bravo's Million Dollar Listing New York.
It was a small moment, but a meaningful one — a testament to the level of work, trust, and reputation Citi Contracting brings to every renovation.
We bring that same "Million Dollar" standard to every home we touch, regardless of the zip code.
