    What We Build

    Renovation Services in Queens

Full Gut Renovations by Citi Contracting in Queens

    Full Gut Renovations

Whole-home gut renovations of private houses, townhouses, condos, and co-ops. We strip the home to the studs, re-plan the layout, and rebuild with new plumbing, electrical, and mechanicals before a single finish goes in. This is the work Queens homeowners call us for most.

    Kitchen Renovations

Kitchens built around how you actually cook. Slab layout, appliance integration, and code-compliant gas, water, and ventilation work — with custom cabinetry scribed to walls that, in older Queens houses, are rarely square.

    Our Specialty

    Gut Renovations in Queens

Full gut renovations are the core of what we do. We are based in Astoria, and a large share of our work is taking Queens homes down to the studs and rebuilding them properly.

    What a Gut Renovation Involves

A gut renovation means taking the home back to its structure — demolition of walls, floors, and finishes, then rebuilding from the inside out. New framing where the layout changes, new plumbing and electrical, updated HVAC, insulation, and soundproofing, then drywall, tile, cabinetry, and finishes. It is the only way to fix what is behind the walls instead of covering it up.

    When It Makes Sense

If the layout no longer works, the wiring or plumbing is original, or you are patching the same problems every year, a gut is usually cheaper over ten years than a series of partial remodels. It also makes sense when you are buying a home you plan to stay in and want the whole thing done once, correctly, before you move in.

    Built for Queens Housing Stock

Queens is not one kind of building. We work in one- to three-family private houses, attached brick and brownstone rows, prewar walk-ups, and newer condo and co-op buildings in Astoria and Long Island City. Each comes with its own structural quirks, from balloon framing and knob-and-tube remnants to shared party walls and stacked wet lines. We plan for them before demo, not after.

    Why Homeowners Hire Us

Gut work exposes everything, and that is where most contractors start improvising. We price the job line by line, sequence the trades ourselves, and keep one point of contact from demo through final walkthrough. Our crews are based here, so when something needs a decision on site, we are there the same day.

    Where We Work

    Areas We Serve in Queens

    Astoria

Home base. We work out of Astoria, and we know its housing stock — attached brick houses, two- and three-family homes, prewar walk-ups, and the newer condo buildings going up along the waterfront. Being minutes away means faster walkthroughs and a crew that can be on site when it matters.

    Long Island City

High-rise condos and converted industrial buildings with building management, service elevators, and strict work-hour rules. We plan access and protection up front so the job moves without friction from the building.

    Throughout Queens

From Sunnyside and Woodside to Forest Hills, Jackson Heights, Bayside, and beyond. Private houses, townhouses, co-ops, and condos — full gut renovations, kitchens, baths, and custom millwork across the borough.

    Service Area

Serving Astoria, Long Island City & All of Queens

Based in Astoria and working throughout Queens, from the LIC waterfront to Forest Hills and Bayside.

    What to Expect

Renovating in Queens: Homes, Condos & Co-ops

Queens covers everything from private houses to high-rise condo towers, and each one comes with a different set of rules. Here is what shapes your project — and what we take off your plate.

    Houses, Townhouses & Multi-Family

Much of Queens is one- to three-family homes and attached townhouses. That means fewer building rules but more responsibility on the contractor: structural changes, egress, fire separation between units, and occupied-home logistics when a family is living upstairs while we work downstairs.

    DOB Permits & Filings

Move plumbing, relocate walls, change use, or touch gas and the work must be filed with the NYC Department of Buildings. We work with architects and expediters to file the job, post the Tenant Protection Plan where required, and carry it through inspections and sign-off. If your scope is cosmetic and does not require filing, we tell you that.

Condos & Co-ops in Astoria and LIC

In condo and co-op buildings, the building is a second client. Expect board review, a signed alteration agreement, certificates of insurance naming the corporation and managing agent, reserved service elevator windows, and set work hours. We handle the package and start it early, because approvals move slower than design does.

    How We Handle It

We manage the paperwork, coordinate with your architect, managing agent, and super, and protect common areas with Masonite, dust barriers, and sealed vents. You get one point of contact and a schedule built around real approval timelines, not optimistic ones.

    How It Works

    Our Process

Most Queens projects run about three to four months from start to walkthrough, depending on scope and how quickly permits or building approvals come through.

    01

    Consultation & Estimate

We walk the space, talk through what you want, and come back with a clear line-by-line estimate — no placeholder numbers.

    02

    Design & Planning

We handle DOB filings when the scope requires them, and for condo or co-op buildings we assemble the alteration package, insurance certificates, and building coordination.

    04

    Success Stories

"I worked with John on a full condo renovation and had an excellent experience from start to finish. He was professional, great at communication, and extremely trustworthy throughout the entire process. As with any full renovation, there were a few hiccups along the way, and John was great at problem-solving—he consistently came prepared with smart suggestions and practical ideas that helped us work through challenges efficiently. I've since referred John to many friends, all of whom were very happy with their projects. In fact, I was so confident in his work that I asked John to come back long after the initial reno project to help repair my apartment after a flood in the building, and his team did a fantastic job that second time around as well. I would absolutely recommend John and his team to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality contractor."

"We used Citi Contracting to do a full renovation of our apartment. It is a very scary process, involving so many elements, that can easily go wrong. Right from the beginning, we had a great feeling meeting with John. He gave us an honest walkthrough of what we would be looking at in terms of the renovations. We could tell instantly, compared to other people we had met with, that he was the real deal. He and his crew did an AMAZING job during the renovation. Their quality and workmanship is absolutely superb. If anything ever hit a "snag", they gave us a full rundown of what was going on, and options to overcome it. They are one of the few HONEST ones I have truly met out there...you never have to worry about being taken advantage of. I cannot say enough good things about these people...it is extremely difficult to find a company like this...and I would whole heartedly recommend them for any project!!"
